Mr. Wallace Bernard Spear was born October 10, 1954, to the parentage of the late Stanley Spear and the late Mable Faye Spear in Piedmont, Alabama. He was the first black student to integrate Frances E. Willard Elementary School, and he furthered his education at Piedmont High School. Mr. Spears was a resident of Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of the East
Birmingham Mission Church, under the leadership of Pastor Alfred Miller.
Wallace loved fishing and working alongside his father in their pulpwood business. Eventually, he ventured on his own and started his own pulpwood business, which expanded when he purchased his own truck. He also had a great love for his nieces and nephews, which was displayed when he would give each of them a “special name”. Wallace was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Kaye Spear. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: sisters, Cynthia Roberson of Mobile, AL; Patricia Elaine (Ray) Price of Montgomery, AL; Sandra Jeanette (Nick) Spear, and Zindi Spear, both of Piedmont, AL; aunt, Evelyn Ball Norman of Atlanta, GA: uncles, Samuel W. (Johnnie) Ball Sr. , of Atlanta, GA, and Robert Lee Ball of Piedmont, AL; and a
host of other relatives and friends.
